The details of this story out of Oklahoma are somewhat confusing (it seems the woman was directed to another hospital because — partially due to budget cuts — the specially-trained SANE examiners rotate through OKC hospitals and were not available at Integris Canadian Valley Hospital), but the part of this that is truly horrifying is that a doctor denied a rape victim emergency birth control.
Because, thanks to Oklahoma’s conscience clause, the ER doctor who first treated the woman refused to provide it, citing her “personal beliefs.”
Still think it doesn’t matter who’s elected in the fall? Are you registered to vote yet?
It’s my “personal belief” that no woman, in one of the most traumatic moments of her life, should have to beg for basic health-care and law-enforcement standards to be enforced.

Somebody That I Used To Know // Glee cover
The perfection of this is ridiculous.
Not only is the song wonderful, but the cover is absolutely beautiful, and fucking Matt Bomer….Omg Matt Bomer.
Idc to watch Glee, but I will easily and gladly say that their covers are amazing.
Dude, inappropriate brothers are inappropriate.

Rare political post from me, but god damn. Everywhere I turn more and more rights are being taken from women. The rights that I have enjoyed my entire life, the rights my mother’s generation literally fought for. I grew up KNOWING that I could do anything. When I became a woman I knew that I had control over my body, including reproduction - to have or have not. Every day that is being chipped away.
I get voter malaise, I really do. THIS YEAR EVERY WOMAN HAS TO VOTE. You HAVE to vote on the local level and at the Presidential. MAD MEN IS NOT MEANT TO BE LIVED AGAIN. It’s to show how far we’ve come. JFC, please. PLEASE VOTE.
Now I’m going to watch this Sesame Street video that was my all-time favorite (from 1973!!) and hope that we can be back to this idealism that hey, women aren’t second class citizens, oh yeah!
Amen to all of this, but also — on a lighter note — I totally remember this from when I was a kid watching Sesame Street. And that blue Muppet in the right-hand corner of the screen in a ringer for Bella Abzug. I wonder if that was on purpose?

Obama sings! He sings Al Green!
In the office late tonight, we all just took a break to huddle around someone’s computer and grin like idiots at this.
This just made my entire night.

~ VW’s teaser ad, “The Bark Side.”
This is amazing. You have to watch it to the very end to truly see its awesomeness.
The best was that I watched it with my mom, who kept asking why the dog on the right was wearing a hat. Even after I explained Ewoks to her.

My in comprehensible love of B. Flowers just continues to show that I have terrible taste in men. But terrific taste in music. :)
Brandon Flowers sings “Bette Davis Eyes” Monday night at the 9:30 Club.
Good night.
This is one talented dude… and what a great song to cover, not to mention his performance. It’s just fantastic.

What if The Social Network had been directed by someone other than David Fincher, College Humor dares to ask.
I am especially fond of the Michael Bay option. “The Internet will STOP SPINNING.”
